Top 7 ways to create new rituals and make 2020 the year!

I’m literally itching as I sit here and write this. Okay yes, it is dry out and maybe I could benefit from a seaweed wrap this time of year but that’s not what this movement is about. It’s just that I’m really excited. The past year has been a time of exploration and growth for me and much like stretching everyday or lifting weights I’m starting to see and FEEL the benefits of all my hard work. Living in Southern California in this little microcosm of the world filled with yoga studios, healers and a truly supportive community has helped fill my soul with absolute goodness.

I want to share with you a few of my take aways from what I’ve dubbed: 2019: Year of cleaning/organizing/ My hope is that some or all of these can quickly help you prioritize the new year and find some peace and happiness in our everyday busyness.

  1. GET OUT OF YOUR COMFORT ZONE. WE DO THIS ALL THE TIME AS KIDS AND YOU SEE HOW CHILDREN DEVELOPMENT AND CHANGE AND GROW CONSISTENTLY. AS ADULTS WE LIKE OUR COMFORTS. TV AT NIGHT, GLASS OF WINE AFTER A DAY OF WORK, ROUTINES THAT DIE HARD. BUT WHAT IF WE WERE ABLE TO JUST SLIGHTLY MODIFY OUR ROUTINE? IT WILL BOOST YOUR CONFIDENCE AND AWAKEN YOUR SOUL? THAT’S WHERE THE MAGIC HAPPENS.

  2. MEDITATE - ONE OF THE SCARIEST MOST DIFFICULT THINGS FOR PEOPLE TO HEAR. USUALLY WE WILL TRY ANYTHING, I MEAN ANYTHING BESIDES MEDITATION TO KEEP US CONNECTED. BUT GUYS, THE REALITY IS WE ALL NEED THIS. ESPECIALLY AS MUCH AS WE RELY ON TECHNOLOGY. READY TO TRY A FEW ON AND SEE WHAT FITS? CHECK OUT THIS ARTICLE FOR SOME IDEAS ON HOW TO BEGIN: healthline

  3. SMALL GOALS EVOLVE INTO DREAMS. START SMALL BY PICKING OUT ONE ACHIEVEMENT A DAY UNTIL YOU’RE READY TO WORK UP TO A WEEK. I LOVE DOING A WEEKLY OR BI-WEEKLY VISION BOARD WITH THREE OR FOUR IMAGES OF ASPIRATIONS. FOR EXAMPLE, I’VE BEEN WORKING ON NAILING MY HANDSTAND SO I HAVE A PIC OF A CHIC IN A HEADSTAND. I ALSO MADE A DAILY COMMITMENT TO MY PUPPY LAYLA TO TAKE HER OUT ON MORE WALKS SO I ALSO INCLUDED A PICTURE OF HER. (SAMPLE BELOW)

  4. BE GRATEFUL. FIND TWO THINGS TO BE THANKFUL FOR EACH MORNING WHEN YOU RISE AND EVERY EVENING BEFORE BED. SAY THEM OUT LOUD OR EVEN BETTER PICK UP THE FIVE MINUTE JOURNAL AND WRITE THEM DOWN.

  5. cut yourself some slack. Self love is some good medicine for the soul. learning to love yourself creates a more beautiful prosperous life. Check out the law of attraction for 15 ways to start doing giving yourself the love you deserve.

  6. ask for help. often times we try and be our own answer for everything. opening up and asking for support helps us connect with others. looking to make new friends this year? ACCEPTING THE HELP OF OTHERS IS REFLECTED AS A STRENGTH WITHIN YOU.

  7. rearrange and organize your dresser, a drawer in the kitchen or a closet. i promise the RENEWED energy will changE UP YOUR REGULAR PRACTICES AND MAKE IT EASIER TO TAKE ON NEW RITUALS.. We’ve spent the last few weeks tackling a project each week (all of which were on our list for 2019 but better late than never lol). we’ll talk more about the garage situation in next week’s blog but let me just say that energy in our home changed when we cleaned up and cleared out. we’re standing in the kitchen feelin’ lighter and happier.
